Kurupted - (Kendrick Lamar)

Unloading his arsenal of metaphors and tongue tiring phrases, this track shows the world the versatility and potential of Kendrick Lamar. Constantly perfecting his art, Kendrick stays true to his city and never forgets to reference LA in his songs. K-Dot makes it clear that he is LA, the city is just as much apart of him as it is to greats such as The Game, and Dr. Dre. If you can't handle this aggressive hip-hop then this game is not for you.

SZA is one of the new members of TDE along with Isaiah Rashad, coming out with his single as of last week as it debuted on Noisy, feat. a member of BlackHippy Ab- Soul. This song is so smooth and lyrical, it is able to show a side of SZA talent as she is featured on a couple TDE tracks thus far.

Kendrick Lamar - Cartoons and Cereal Ft Gunplay

"Now I was raised in a sandbox, next to you and her, you was holding a handgun, she was giving birth, to a baby to be born just like, I wonder whats that worth, I wonder if you ever knew you were a role model  to me first, the next day I woke up in the morning seen you on the news looked in the mirror and realized that I had something to prove, you told don't be like me just finish watching cartoons, which is funny cus now all I see is willy coyotes in the room." Then the beat drops.....
If you are on this blog chances are you know who these artists are, K-dot released this single while on the Club Paradise Tour with Drake and A$AP Rocky. Touring and still releasing tracks that speak to the youth in such a metaphorical way, we all have seen the road runner and willy coyote. Willy never wins, but seems mentally insane. This metaphor paints a picture at least in our heads of the "good kid" being surrounded with all the evils of the world while they are subjected to drugs without a choice. They are told to just watch your cartoons and pretend nothing is wrong. For Gunplay this song really put him on the map with suburban fans that would not have typically listened to his genre of hiphop. Looking at the background of each rapper, K-dot typically does not smoke or drink so more on the straight edge side while Gunplay experiments with his fair share.

Meek Mill - OOH KILL EM'

If you aren't with the up to date social networks then you might not know who Terio, famous for his saying "Ooh Kill 'Em Ooh kill 'Em Oooh". Meek goes in on this track, produced by Kamo & Rio, with his energetic intense flow destroy this beat! An amazing single and response to the Kendrick Lamar "Control" verse where Meek Mill is mention. In this response to Kendrick, Meek spits "Heard you gun go doo-doo-doo-doo well my gun to blap-blap-blap-blap" which is a clown on Kendrick's gun sounds in his song.  "Hov gave you 24, let you have that" referring to the 24 bars Jay-Z gave to Kendrick for the "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" (remix). Meek Mill murders this track and has the best response to Kendrick's "Control" verse.

Isaiah Rashad Feat. SZA 'Ronnie Drake'

Young Spottie, has been coming up in the game lately signing to 'Top Dawg Ent.' Sep 20 2013. Rashad seems to fit in perfectly with the TDE family with the same forward theme and feel of his music, mostly lyrically based but doesn't lack in amazing hooks. If you have heard Isaiah, chances are it was on the track 'Shot U Down (remix) ' which is a 7 min collab of TDE artists with some guests, in our opinion a work of art. Isaiah is able to tell very descriptive stories in his verses with ease, but each of these stories have moving themes and underlying tones that seem to let you into his life. He's on the come up, so be on the look out for Isaiah Rashad.

Rikki Blue Feat. Micheal Da Vinci & Isaiah Rashad

Ya'll know who Rikki Blue is? We didn't either until a couple weeks ago when we came up on this track 'Jordan' which has features from Micheal Da Vinci & Isaiah Rashad.21 year old Dallas Native Rikki puts meaning back in 'Trill' describing his own music "Rikki Blu:  My music is honest, emotional and pure. I try to remain as human as possible when I’m creating a record.  We lose ourselves far too often trying to maintain this superficial facade." (http://www.truelaurels.com/tag/rikki-blu/) Rikki is from Nashville and raps with some hints of some southern slang in his rhyme scheme, all three unload on this stunning beat. Produced by Cody Jordan, you can not listen to this song without wanting to groove to this beat. This song was the best first impression of Rikki, we could have ever come across with features from such aggressive rappers there is no too,m for failure on this track.
